Yudhoyono, an optimist

[Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono in a recent state-of-the-nation address to parliament] vowed to do everything possible to improve the country's investment climate, keeping up his fight against corruption and working with parliament to approve draft bills on tax and customs duties.

Yudhoyono said Indonesia's economy would likely expand by 6.3 percent in 2007, up from an estimated 5.8 percent growth rate this year.

That's what I like about him: He is an optimist.

Optimist surely a must-have trait for any leader as long as he/she has a a bunch pessimists behind his/her back.

Anyway, how SBY found out that number at first place? Pessimists do that.

I started to like him a while ago after a numbers of my criticism towards him. But unfortunately, his latest speech is somewhat hiding many facts.

You should read "Bisnis Indonesia" regarding this matter

Yes, for some reasons he uses outdated statistics.

Still, despite gloomy predictions from virtually everybody, he continues to be an optimist.

Having said that, the big question, of course, is whether he delivers or not. Unfortunately, as far as economic growth and employment are concerned, he has not.

What reasons? He simply try to manipulate the public & parliament opinions by using out of date statistics. No more.
